My first novel in progress — Jane Bardot — is a mystery story. It’s set in the surroundings of Scarborough, Western Australia, and goes back to the rock ‘n’ roll, “Snake Pit” era of 1956.
The body of an unusual, young woman is found abandoned among the tourists on Perth’s iconic Scarborough beach. Red lipstick, desert boots, and a navy chiffon scarf, she’s a girl from a different time, and nobody knows who she is except for one old man. He claims she’s his wife who went missing in 1956.
Detective Ryan Price, coffee-swilling insomniac and no-time legend, is assigned to the high-profile case. If he wants to keep his job, he needs to prove himself, but he’s immediately pulled in a direction he can’t explain. Who is this missing woman and could the body on the beach really be her? Will Price will overcome his obsession with the past and solve the case?
More whoisit than whodunnit, my book explores how today’s reality is constructed from layers of the past and from the stories existing within it. We learn things are not always what they seem, and not everything can be explained by logic.

The fifties are so fascinating to me, in fact the past in general. To think on what, and who, once existed, but now may be forgotten. The layers behind the present day. Thank you for stopping by 😊

Oh I didn’t even know!! How exciting. I will have to check it out. Yes I love the lure and mystery of the past. There’s a lot of people who have tread before us and we can learn a lot from them. Also, the 50s seemed so cool 🙂

Thank you so much for subscribing to my blog! Exciting! I don’t know too many history buffs. I tried to blog about history but I couldn’t find an audience, so I switched to blogging. If there’s any way I can help you with your blogging, please let me know. Thanks again.
