Hello and welcome to my page! thumbnail_IMG_8036My name is Eleanor Mulder, and I’m a mum to tweens and a writer living near Perth, Western Australia.

I’m inspired to share my journey as I find magic in the everyday. Thanks to Perth Happenings, I’m often out and about, trying out different Perth activities and blogging about my experience.

When I’m alone, I continue my search for magic — in nature, in people, in places. In times of joy, in times of change, and even in times of fear; there’s always magic to be found.

Here on my blog, I share my writing progress, adventures, mysteries, life experiences, thoughts, and words. I have also shared a little about my novel in progress and my new venture into children’s books, my next illogical step towards my goal to stay young forever 😉

  3. Thanks for liking my Going YA post. How’s the writing going? Do you have regular times in the day you write? I try.. and then it fails… I’m always interested to hear how mums with small children manage to get any writing done. I’m not being that successful at the moment. 🙂

    • Hello Sarah. It is very difficult, no denying that!! There are some days I don’t write at all, when things don’t go to plan, but usually I write during nap time (my eldest watches a movie while the youngest sleeps) and then in the evenings. I don’t watch TV. If I have an editing job to do, or if I’m really tired from having been up at night with the girls, or if I want to spend time with my partner, then the writing stops unfortunately. I don’t see it really being any different to someone who has a full time job really, except weekends are like weekdays and I’m always tired haha! On that note, I’m knackered at the moment, and I haven’t written on my novel for a week 😏 But just keep pushing a day at a time, an hour at a time. Things will get easier, but you mustn’t wait.   6. Hello 👋👋👋 I found you or your blog on dream big dream often, so I suppose I am a gatecrasher… *gulp* a nice one though. Pleased I am to visit and chat, I am writing in one form or another from 5.30 am until about eleven most days. Though I just last night returned from a two week break, I still scratched away each morning… but on paper. The husband called it my rehab. I wrote six chapters of a new project that I didn’t know was even lurking, but not a whisp of wi-fi or more than a bar on my phone didn’t hold me back. Now to tranfer and tweak it on tinternet and hope my mad foray with a brand new genre is as good as I think.

    • Unfortunately I was interrupted and couldn’t continue to read through your posts, but especially looking forward the ‘cheeseburger’ one haha. Yes, it’s great to connect with other writers just starting out like me. Well done for taking the leap of faith, no matter what your age is. Me? I chose the most frantic time of my life.   13. Hi, thank you for your kind words about my blogs which have tumbled out a bit political for some reason (put it down to the stress of living through 2016). I sat down at about midnight and bashed anther one out which is all about writing for once, so I’ll get it posted after checking it through tonight. Am I right in thinking that I came across you just the other day through Chantelle Atkins?

    • I love connecting with other writers, and yes, Chantelle Atkins is the spring board. Isn’t she fantastic? Look forward to learning about you and your books. I too am interested in crime stories and children’s stories (what a combination!) 😉

  17. Ms.Mulder, I am really happy to meet you and looking forward to reading your novel. So far, I haven’t published anything yet but continously working hard to write better everyday. I have a cousin in Brisbane, so it’s possible that someday I visit you in Perth, not sure when. Keep great stories and essays coming, stay blessed!
