Heart’s Window by Robyn Charlesworth
I was pleasantly surprised by how easy-to-read and touching this collection of poems was for me to read. Poetry is a very personal expression and not something I normally read, but Robyn draws the reader in with her honesty, humour, and strength of storytelling. I have to admit, I had a little tear when I read the poem about her losing her dog, and also the poems written when her children were young (as mine are now); the words brought emotions to the surface as I reflected on my own life, past and present. At times – being an editor – I wanted to assist with the punctuation, layout and structure – but on the whole, a very well put together little book, and one that will keep memories alive – something that is very inspiring to me.
